The pit stop

Start with one small reset.

Don’t wait until you have time to detail the entire car. When you’re parked, pick one thing that makes the next drive feel better.

Get the obvious trash out.

Empty cups, receipts and wrappers go first. Keep a small lined bin within easy reach, away from pedals and controls.

Take the passenger seat inside.

Use one bag for the things that belong at home. Bring the bag inside when you get out, then empty it before the next drive.

Wipe what’s in front of you.

Follow your vehicle’s care instructions and the cleaner’s label. Test compatibility before using a product on an unfamiliar surface.

Finish with a scent you like.

Fragrance is a finishing touch. Remove the source of an unwanted smell first, and use fragrances only as directed.
